Newly released video shows a man arrested in connection with the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump while being detained by sheriff’s deputies on a Florida highway.

A video released Monday by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office shows Ryan Wesley Roth, 58, being arrested without incident Sunday as he drove north on Interstate 95. Officials said the arrest came after Secret Service agents engaged a suspect pointing a high-powered rifle at the Florida golf course where Trump was playing golf.

An unidentified police officer can be heard yelling at the suspect, “Driver, take two steps to the right!” “Take two steps to the right! Driver, come back straight, keep walking.”

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said in an interview that he arrived on the scene shortly after Routh was arrested.

“I was on the scene right after the stop. I had left my house. He didn’t even ask me what was going on. He just sat there, really, like he was going to a picnic,” Snyder said.

Roth was charged Monday with two firearms offenses in federal court. If convicted of the two firearms charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years.

Roth was armed with an AK-47 rifle and was about 300 to 500 yards from Trump when Secret Service personnel spotted him and opened fire, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw. A federal source told CBS News on Monday that there is no indication that Routh ever fired the weapon.

Law enforcement officials said a member of Trump’s Secret Service spotted Roth on the perimeter of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, just a few holes from where the former president was playing golf.
