MSNBC Host Nicolle Wallace Fires Back at ‘Delusional’ Trump After Direct Attack
California’s Adam Schiff urges people to “fight back” as the GOP pushes for more congressional seats in Texas.
MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace took to her show Monday to respond to Trump, who has become her new media target, highlighting his greatest “delusion” and questioning his deep understanding of reality.
Referring to Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin on his show “Deadline: White House,” Wallace said the president was “furious at anyone spreading the truth about this story and any other.” Referring to Trump’s Sunday morning rant against her, in which he called her “a failure, underappreciated, and already fired from The View,” Wallace added, “I saw it firsthand.”
The 79-year-old president was in the midst of one of his bizarre social media attacks when he directed his anger at Wallace on Sunday. He also wrote to Truth Social: “You’re going to be fired soon! MSNBC is dead!” » His supporters mocked the anchor in the comments below the post, calling her “Typhus Mary Nicole Wallace” and her show a “news clown.” One user wrote, “Nicole Wallace is afraid of losing her job. Call her an ambulance.” These posts appeared to be a response to Wallace’s coverage of his failure to secure a ceasefire after his meeting with Putin.
Before specifically targeting Wallace on Sunday, Trump had blasted the negative coverage of the meeting in general, saying, “It’s amazing how much fake news twists the truth when it comes to me. There’s nothing I can say or do that will make them write or talk so openly about me.” I had a great meeting in Alaska about Biden’s stupid war, a war that should never have happened!
Wallace’s response to Trump’s blistering attack on Monday was limited to a single sentence, but she continued her attack throughout the show.
After a video of Trump ranting in the Oval Office about his desire to ban mail-in voting was played, Wallace got straight to the point. “We’re going to get straight to the point, because this is all completely false,” she said. “The United States is one of many countries that uses mail-in voting, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Switzerland. It’s also important to note that there is no evidence of widespread fraud in the election, and Trump was investigating the matter.
“But this is how Donald Trump, the current president of the United States, who himself voted by mail, as The New York Times reported, chose to spend his time today, right at the heart of what we were talking about: this high-stakes diplomacy.” »
Wallace concluded that Trump’s angry speech promises “an executive order to address one of his oldest, most dangerous, and most unfounded illusions: that he didn’t lose the 2020 presidential election.”
