GOP Rep Exposes Real Reason for Trump’s War
The Kentucky Republican says bombing Iran won’t distract him from the Epstein files.

Donald Trump’s Republican opponent believes the president’s military operation in Iran is hiding ulterior motives.
Representative Thomas Massie forcefully reiterated on Sunday that the war would not deter him from pursuing his efforts to force the Justice Department to release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Beware: Bombing a country on the other side of the world will not erase the Epstein files, any more than the Dow Jones will,” wrote Massie, a libertarian from Kentucky, on X.

Masse is among a growing number of Trump critics who accuse the president of creating foreign policy crises and other controversies within the White House to divert attention from his long-standing relationship with Epstein, particularly since the release of new Justice Department documents concerning the deceased sex trafficker’s crimes.
In January, critics argued that the Trump administration’s arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro offered a temporary respite from partisan pressure regarding Trump’s ties to Epstein, who described himself as Trump’s “best friend.”
Massie and his Democratic ally, Representative Ro Khanna, spearheaded the Epstein Transparency Act—reluctantly signed by Trump—which required the Justice Department to release all records related to Epstein, who died in 2019, by December 19, 2025.
The Justice Department has already released more than 3 million records related to Epstein, while another 3 million remain inaccessible for various reasons.

Massie also challenged Trump before his military intervention in Iran.
“Congress must vote on the war in accordance with our Constitution,” the congressman wrote on X.com on February 19. He added that he and Khanna “will push for this vote to take place in the House of Representatives as soon as possible. I will vote ‘America First,’ which means voting against new wars in the Middle East.”

Massie and Khanna are expected to introduce a resolution next week to limit Trump’s military actions without congressional approval.
These efforts did not deter the president from launching a major attack Saturday morning, which reportedly included a direct bombing of the Shajari Tayebah girls’ school in Minab, Hormozgan province. According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, at least 43 students were killed and 63 others wounded.
Early Saturday morning, Massey returned to the X website to express his outrage.

“Unauthorized acts of war by Congress,” he wrote on the X website, sharing an Associated Press article titled “U.S. and Israel launch major attack on Iran; Trump urges Iranians to stay in control.”
In another post, Massey sharply criticized Trump’s military intervention, calling it the antithesis of the “America First” slogan.
“I oppose this war. This is not America First,” he wrote in a post that had been viewed 4.2 million times at the time of publication.

Massie continued: “When Congress resumes work, I will work with [Ro Khanna] to secure a vote on a war against Iran. The Constitution requires a vote, and your representative must formally take a position, for or against this war.”
The president has repeatedly called Massie a “loser” and an “idiot,” and he supports his main opponent, Ed Gallrin, in the race for Kentucky’s 4th district seat.
