France has become one of the most popular study destinations for international students. However, the costs of studying and living in France are not always affordable. Although annual tuition fees at public universities are as low as 200 to 600 euros, they can reach up to 10,000 euros at private universities. The cost of living is around EUR 10,000 per year. Fortunately, a number of French scholarships are available for international students.

Eiffel Excellence Scholarships
The Eiffel scholarship program was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a tool for French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students for master's and doctoral programs. Eiffel scholarship holders in masters receive an allowance of €1,181 and scholarship holders in doctorate an allowance of €1,400. In addition, the program covers various expenses, including round-trip airfare, health insurance, and cultural activities. Fellows may also be eligible for an additional living allowance. The program does not cover tuition fees.

Choose the international higher normal school
Each year, the ENS organizes an international selection allowing around thirty promising international students, either in the sciences or in the humanities, to follow a course of two or three years at the ENS. They receive a monthly salary of around 1,000 euros for a period of 2-3 years. About thirty foreign students are rewarded each year.
Ampère Excellence Scholarships at ENS de Lyon
The ENS de Lyon and its partners offer scholarships to exceptional international students to enroll in master's programs in the exact sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences (excluding professional masters in teaching) via the Ampère excellence scholarships. The scholarships cover €1,000 per month for a period of 12 months and are conditionally renewable.
Emile Boutmy scholarships at Sciences Po University
Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy scholarships after the founder of Sciences Po in order to attract the best international students from outside the European Union who apply and are accepted at Sciences Po University. Scholarships can take different forms ranging from €5,000 to €10,000 for 2 years of postgraduate study or from €3,000 to €12,300 for 3 years of undergraduate study.
Master's scholarships from the International University of Paris-Saclay
Université Paris-Saclay wishes to promote access to Master's programs (diplomas accredited at national level) for international students, taught in its member establishments. The scholarship is €10,000 per year and a maximum of €1,000 is awarded for travel and visa costs.
Scholarships from the Grenoble INP Foundation
The Grenoble INP Foundation supports a scholarship program for international students who wish to pursue an international master's program at Grenoble INP. The scholarship is worth 5,000 euros per semester.
INSEAD MBA Scholarships
INSEAD scholarships are limited in number and there is great competition for each award. These scholarships are awarded according to various criteria and fall into two main categories: need-based and non-need-based (based on merit, nationality, gender, professional background, leadership abilities, field of previous studies, etc.). The scholarships range in value from $5,000 to $25,000.
HEC Paris MBA scholarships
HEC Paris offers generous scholarships to international students from different countries and backgrounds. HEC scholarships are divided into different categories: merit-based, need-based, or based on specific criteria. The amount of the scholarship varies from €6,000 to €24,000.
