Trump Dealt New Blow as Impeachment Odds Hit Record High

The odds that President Donald Trump will be impeached and removed from office have reached an all-time high.

Indicators on betting markets surged dramatically in favor of the likelihood of Trump’s removal, following the reckless threat he issued to annihilate the entire Iranian population.

The platform “Kalshi” projects a 27.5% probability that Trump will be impeached and removed from office before the end of his presidential term. This figure represents the highest percentage recorded in this regard since Trump’s reelection to the presidency in November 2024.

Furthermore, on Tuesday, the odds of invoking the 25th Amendment against Trump rose, reaching 33.2%.

The 25th Amendment grants the Vice President—acting jointly with a majority of the Cabinet—the authority to declare the President unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, thereby triggering the transfer of executive power to the Vice President.

The President—who has already faced impeachment proceedings on two separate occasions—issued a disproportionate threat against the Iranian people on Tuesday, declaring that he was prepared to annihilate the country’s entire population if they did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic by 8:00 PM, Washington D.C. time.

Issuing his threat via his social media platform, “Truth Social,” the President wrote: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,”

“I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” he continued, adding, “Maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?”

He concluded his message by saying: “May God bless the great people of Iran”—this, despite having vowed to annihilate them at the very beginning of that same message.

The growing likelihood of Trump’s impeachment and removal from office comes at a time when many members of his “MAGA” electoral coalition have turned against him—going so far as to demand his ouster—following the publication of this erratic message.

Former Representative and “MAGA” ally Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote in a post: “25TH AMENDMENT!!!” She added: “Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization.”

“This is evil and madness,” she added.

Meanwhile, dozens of Democratic lawmakers have demanded the President’s removal from office—whether through impeachment proceedings or by invoking the 25th Amendment—following his threat to annihilate every Iranian.

“This is not normal. This is not just ‘Trump being Trump,’” tweeted Massachusetts Representative Seth Moulton. “This is an insane man who is unfit for office, and needs to be removed immediately.”
