Trump’s Own Voters Turn on Him in Shock New Impeachment Poll

The new numbers put Trump at the same approval as the “peak of the Watergate scandal,” the pollster said.

A new poll has revealed that a growing faction of President Donald Trump’s supporters is now calling for his impeachment.

In a survey conducted by the organizations “Strength in Numbers” and “Verasight,” a majority of respondents answered in the affirmative to the following question: “Would you support or oppose a vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President Trump?”

The poll indicated that 55% of those surveyed supported impeachment, while 37% opposed it and 8% remained undecided regarding their stance.

In this regard, polling expert J. Elliot Morris stated: “That net +18 verdict puts Trump in the neighborhood of the numbersRichard Nixon saw at the peak of the Watergate scandal in August 1974,”

The poll also revealed that a “surprising percentage” of Republicans—including those within Trump’s core base of supporters, specifically those who back his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) slogan—stated that they favor a vote for his impeachment.

Approximately 21% of Republican voters expressed support for Trump’s impeachment, while 72% opposed it. Among those who voted for Trump in the 2024 election, 21% desired his impeachment, compared to 73% who opposed it.

The poll highlighted that these figures imply that “nearly one in five of those who brought him back to power” is no longer merely dissatisfied with his record, but now explicitly wishes to oust him.

As for Democratic voters—perhaps unsurprisingly—an overwhelming majority wishes to see the President impeached; Support for impeachment reaches 88% within this group, while opposition stands at only 8%.

These disastrous figures for Trump come at a time when his increasingly erratic behavior—particularly the virulent, profanity-laced verbal attacks he posts late at night or early in the morning on “Truth Social”—has led his critics to question his mental fitness to govern.

In a related development, several Democratic members of the House of Representatives have called for Trump’s removal from office under the 25th Amendment of the Constitution.

It also appears that Trump has begun to lose his grip on voter opinion regarding issues of immigration and the economy—two areas in which voters had previously favored him during the 2024 presidential election.

Furthermore, several prominent figures in conservative media—notably Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson—have turned completely against the President following the launch, on February 28, of a “war” against Iran.

This week, Carlson went so far as to apologize for “misleading” his viewers by encouraging them, during previous elections, to support the President. Tucker Carlson stated: “In a way, it all comes down to very small details—details that are, nonetheless, very real and tangible; for you, me, and millions of people like us are the very reason for what is happening right now.

Consequently, I sincerely believe that we are living through a moment where we must engage in some soul-searching. And, as you know, we will remain tormented by this question for a long time to come—or, at least, that is certainly the case for me. That is why I wish to apologize for having misled people, while emphasizing that this was entirely unintentional on my part.”
