Desperate Trump Self-Soothes With Manic Posting Spree
With less than a month to go before he turns 80, the president seemed determined to push one message during his latest Truth Social blitz: Donald Trump is still in his prime.

President Donald Trump appeared to spend Saturday calming down on Truth Social, posting a flurry of messages after returning from his embarrassing trip to China.
While his official schedule indicated only “Executive Time,” the septuagenarian posted 28 messages in roughly two hours, ranging from imaginative AI-generated military graphics and extravagant boasts about infrastructure to a series of satirical images that seemed to focus on one crucial message: Donald Trump is still in top form.
“President Trump gets YOUNGER,” read one post, accompanied by a photo of Trump alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping, sporting unusually smooth skin and looking noticeably less tired.

Another post proclaimed, “President Trump ages in reverse!” with a photo of him stepping out of a golf cart, looking significantly younger than his age.

The rejuvenation theme continued in a perhaps more bizarre form: a photo of a young Trump, an army cadet, sitting across from his current image, captioned: “Same Guy. Even More Energy Now!”

Trump attended a military academy during his teens but never served in the military, having received several deferments during the Vietnam War, including due to bone growths.
He also revisited his recent obsession with AI-generated military imagery. One such image, titled “It Was The Calm Before the Storm,” showed him dramatically pointing from the bow of a warship as thunder rumbled overhead and a decorated officer stood behind him.

This belligerent post came as Trump appeared to be hardening his stance toward Iran, warning in recent days that bombing campaigns could resume if negotiations fail.
Another image depicted the president as the commander of a futuristic “Space Force” command center, directing explosions from orbit.

This flurry of images wasn’t just an AI-generated fantasy. Trump also posted a lengthy message defending the ongoing renovation of the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool, accompanied by a photo proudly proclaiming to his supporters that “Our Pool is Bigger than Skyscrapers.”
Trump has always had a penchant for exaggeration and overstatement. Just hours after the 9/11 attacks, he declared that 40 Wall Street had become “the tallest” building in Lower Manhattan after the collapse of the Twin Towers.

“Actually, 40 Wall Street was the second tallest building in Midtown Manhattan. Before the World Trade Center, it was the tallest.” Then, after the World Trade Center was built, it became the second tallest. Now it’s the tallest,” he told a local television station at the time.
The wave of satirical images captioned “Trump looks younger” coincided with a renewed interest in videos from his trip to China, which brought his swollen ankles back into the spotlight.
The president has been the subject of intense and repeated scrutiny regarding his health, including a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, and frequent questions about his mental capacity.
Whether intentionally or not, this series of posts seemed to focus unusually on portraying a young, energetic president, far from his eighties. Trump will turn eighty on June 14.
