Trump Goes on 67-Post Rampage After Fireworks Fiasco
The president woke up after America’s birthday with plenty to say online.

President Donald Trump posted a flurry of messages late Sunday morning after Independence Day (July 4) celebrations descended into chaos, sparking discontent and frustration among his supporters (the MAGA movement).
The president—aged 80—posted 67 messages on “Truth Social” in the span of just two hours, at a frenetic pace. These posts ranged from attacks on a federal judge to a 1991 photo, taken at a New York City tree-lighting ceremony, showing him alongside stars of the movie Home Alone 2.
Trump posted at a rate of nearly one message per minute between 11:12 a.m. and 1:14 p.m., repeatedly airing the same grievances and complaints.

That morning, he appeared to focus primarily on events from two weeks earlier—specifically the week of June 22—revisiting a series of past episodes rather than addressing immediate current events.
Among these events was the case involving federal judge Sparkle Sooknanan, who had blocked a controversial Trump administration project that week. The project aimed to use an updated Department of Homeland Security database—containing the personal information of millions of Americans—to verify voter eligibility.

Judge Sooknanan’s name—a Trinidadian-American appointed by former President Joe Biden—appeared repeatedly in Trump’s posts; her background and nationality were called into question through the resharing of screenshots from influential “MAGA” supporter accounts.
Trump also shared a video from that same period showing Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announcing charges against 455 people as part of a massive nationwide crackdown on healthcare fraud; Trump shared this two-minute clip with his followers multiple times.

The topics covered in this intensive campaign varied widely: from media coverage of Trump’s speeches—dominated by warnings against communism—to the highlighting of a banner placing him alongside George Washington, labeling the Founding Father “America’s First” and Trump “America First.”
Trump also focused on the Reflecting Pool—describing its water as “crystal clear” and claiming the algae problem had been completely resolved—touted the merits of golden horse statues, and boasted about his TikTok statistics, proclaiming himself “Number 1 on TikTok!”

This flurry of posts followed a chaotic “America 250” celebration that veered off schedule; evacuations necessitated by severe weather left many “MAGA” supporters stranded near the National Mall.
The National Park Service abruptly cut the event—which the president had described as a “massive rally”—short around 7:15 p.m., after instructing attendees to shelter in place.
“People have been waiting outside for 10 to 12 hours. This is unacceptable!” shouted some ” (MAGA) supporters as they clashed with law enforcement while being evacuated from the site. Later, some attendees were unable to re-enter the venue after the event was announced to be resuming.
Emily Miller, a social media influencer and supporter of the movement, remained stuck outside the barriers while others underwent additional security checks ahead of Trump’s delayed speech. “The situation here is appalling,” she said in a video posted on Instagram, voicing a frustration shared by other attendees.
As for Trump—who had urged his supporters to “HAVE SOME FUN even if we are out late” despite evacuation orders—he later appeared to doze off during the fireworks display, which lasted into the early hours of July 5.
After the show, the president wrote on Truth Social: “Best fireworks show, EVER! President DJT,” Notably, the event subsequently prompted Washington, D.C. to issue a “Code Red” air quality alert due to high pollution levels.
