Megyn Kelly Goes Off on Trump for Even ‘Considering’ Diddy Pardon

“Trump pardoning Diddy will create another Epstein for him,” Kelly said, “It’s the same thing.”

Megyn Kelly strongly urged Donald Trump not to pardon Sean “Diddy” Combs, telling her viewers: “I have to believe that Trump is smarter than that.”

“I’m here to urge him not to even think about it, let alone do it,” Kelly said Wednesday on her YouTube show before addressing Trump directly. “Trump understands perfectly well that he can’t stand you, Mr. President. He’s been nice to you. He’s turned on you, and he doesn’t deserve any favors from you, who worked so hard to stop him in 2020.” Kelly added that pardoning Combs would be “a travesty of justice” because he “doesn’t deserve any mercy from Trump.”

In 2015, Combs told the Washington Post: “Donald Trump is my friend, and he works hard. » The following year, the fashion-conscious rapper praised Trump’s “style” to the New York Post, saying, “I have a tie he gave me. I wear it.” However, even then, he expressed concerns about Trump’s involvement in politics, adding, “As for voting for him, it’s not clear yet.”

By 2020, Combs had grown disliked of Trump. That year, during an interview on Charlamagne the God, Combs declared, “White men like Trump should be banned,” while endorsing Joe Biden for president.

Trump himself acknowledged that Combs’s opinion of him had changed, saying in May, “Combs used to like me a lot, but I think when I ran for office, that relationship kind of broke down. From what I’ve read, I don’t know.” He didn’t tell me, but I just read some nasty remarks in the paper all of a sudden.”

Kelly defended her position to Trump on Wednesday by playing a clip of Combs’s “white men” comment on his show, before moving on to the “bigger” point: “Pardoning Diddy would create a new Epstein case” for Trump. It’s the same thing. Telling all these vulnerable young women that they don’t matter, that they’re not ignored, that even the highest-ranking Republican president would cover up any wrongdoing against these types of victims… it’s simply impossible.

Kelly’s latest statement follows a Deadline report Tuesday that Trump was “seriously considering” pardoning the rapper, who escaped sex trafficking and RICO charges in June but was convicted of prostitution, which carries a possible 20-year prison sentence. This high-profile trial publicly revealed a pattern of domestic violence that Combs could not, and ultimately did not, deny—the most notorious example being the infamous 2016 video in which he violently beat his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

Combs is behind bars awaiting sentencing on October 3, although his lawyers have repeatedly tried to secure his release.

Kelly said Wednesday, “The Republican Party is already under pressure from women voters, and they’re not all left-wing. Some young conservative women don’t like Trump or the MGA movement. This won’t work. That’s very clear. We all saw the video of him beating Cassandra Ventura.”

Therefore, Kelly said it made no sense for Trump to intervene, especially since he’s already struggling with his base because of Epstein.

She asked Wednesday: “What is Trump worried about about Epstein?” He’s in trouble because he’s posing as a member of the MGA base, thus covering up for other MGA members. And they don’t appreciate that. They elected Trump because he promised he wouldn’t be one of them.

She added that pardoning Combs “will not work. Absolutely not.”

She continued: “Some people really believe there’s a cover-up… How many other people had access to young women and drugs at these high-profile parties, to celebrities? Somehow, all of this has been kept secret.”

Regarding hypothetical loopholes that could prevent Trump from winning back his base, Kelly argued that Combs should serve time in prison because he has “openly admitted” to being a domestic abuser.

She said: “He beat these women to it and didn’t even deny it. He got away with it. He was only convicted of these two minor offenses – at least let him serve time for those.”
