Senator Reveals Trump’s ‘Insane’ Plan for After the Election
The lawmaker says he has been briefed on what happens next.

A prominent lawmaker has stated that he has become aware of a war plan that Donald Trump is reportedly considering launching following the midterm elections, which are scheduled for next Tuesday.
Senator Chris Murphy indicated that he could not disclose the details of this war plan against Iran, though he described it as “delusional.”
According to Murphy, implementing such a plan would very likely “undermine our commitment to the rule of law.”

In a post on the platform “X” (formerly Twitter), the Democratic senator wrote: “This plan will not achieve its objectives; it will only trigger a new cycle of escalation.”
Speaking on Thursday at the Middle East Institute, Murphy mentioned that he had a “fairly detailed discussion” regarding Trump’s war plans, predicting that they would lead to a “devastating escalation” in the conflict with Tehran.
He stated: “You’ve heard that this would be a short-term plan. I’ll just say this: their plan is delusional.”
He also referred to reports suggesting that the U.S. Department of Defense (the Pentagon) might be developing plans targeting civilian infrastructure.

He added: “The President certainly asked them to prepare a plan. I don’t know if they themselves believe it will succeed, but in my view, the plan they have devised would only prolong and intensify the war—which would be disastrous for our security interests.” »
These statements by Mr. Murphy—who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations and Appropriations Committees—come amid reports suggesting that the United States has asked Gulf nations to prepare for a short, high-intensity military campaign following the November 3 elections. It is rumored that Trump, in coordination with Israel, is preparing to launch a swift and powerful strike intended to compel Iranian leaders to return to the negotiating table.
The Wall Street Journal has reported, citing various officials, that Trump is weighing several options, including targeting Iranian nuclear facilities as well as civilian infrastructure.
In his final weekly broadcast before the election, Jon Stewart predicted that the president might resort to a scenario similar to the events of January 6, should the Republicans suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of the Democrats.
