Disturbing Truth About Trump’s Sleepless Posting Exposed
The president spent more than 80 percent of his nights posting on social media last month.

Donald Trump’s habit of posting messages late at night and in the early hours of the morning has become so frequent that, during the month of April, there were only five days on which he managed to get a full night’s sleep.
An analysis conducted by The Daily Beast revealed that the 79-year-old former president’s use of the Truth Social platform inevitably raises questions—if only regarding his physical health, and perhaps his mental health as well.
The sheer volume of Trump’s activity on Truth Social has exploded in a staggering fashion compared to his use of Twitter during a similar period of his first term.
At a comparable stage of his first term, the president had posted 250 messages during April 2018; in April of this year, by contrast, he posted 565 messages on Truth Social—an average of approximately 18 posts per day.

The Daily Beast’s analysis went beyond a simple tally of Trump’s posts; it also examined their timing and nature, noting that one-third of his social media output is now published during nighttime hours.
The stream of erratic, late-night messages unleashed by Trump throughout April ranged from the trivial and the embarrassing to posts containing profanities or adopting an “apocalyptic” tone.
Indeed, some of these messages were so frequently baffling and incoherent that they prompted his own former aides and allies to express concern, observing that he “clearly isn’t doing well.”
Among the most striking—and controversial—of these messages was a bizarre post in which he depicted himself as “Jesus Christ.” That message was posted shortly before 3:00 a.m. that day. The image sparked a firestorm of outraged reactions, ultimately prompting Trump to delete it and subsequently issue a statement of protest, claiming he had believed the image depicted him as “a doctor healing people—because that is, in reality, what I do.”

However, Trump’s appearance in the guise of “Christ” was neither the first such incident nor the last. As the difficulties facing the president mounted, his posts became increasingly tense and erratic, eventually descending into a state of incoherence and inscrutability that gave rise to deep concern.
According to an exhaustive tally, an analysis conducted by The Daily Beast revealed that Trump had posted a total of 189 messages during the month of April between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (local time).
This means that on 83% of the nights in April, at least one message was posted during the overnight hours.
For instance, on April 5 at precisely 10:35 p.m., Trump posted an image of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, without providing any explanatory context. It is widely assumed that this was an allusion to his plan to have a similar monument erected to immortalize his own legacy. That night was just one of many during which he fell into the habit of posting messages between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.—a time slot generally reserved for adult sleep.
It appears that this lack of sleep sometimes took a toll on Trump, as cameras caught him dozing off during Cabinet meetings and press conferences.
The following day—April 6—he closed his eyes, and his head slumped forward as he stood behind Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in the White House briefing room.

On the morning following this dozing incident in the briefing room, Trump was back at work very early—this time issuing a virulent threat against Iran. At 8:04 a.m., he wrote: “An entire civilization will be wiped out tonight, never to rise again.” This message, posted on Truth Social, drew immediate condemnation from both Democrats and Republicans—and even from Pope Leo.
On April 12, Trump shared a heavily doctored image depicting the singer Bruce Springsteen with rotting teeth—doing so at the very moment Vice President J.D. Vance was conducting high-level talks in Pakistan aimed at bringing an end to the war.

He accompanied the image with the following caption: “Bruce Springsteen prior to plastic surgery???”
That same evening, Trump posted a series of doctored, AI-generated images—including a photograph of Trump Tower perched on the surface of the Moon—as well as a peculiar attack on the Democrats based on their combined years of public service.

The posting session dragged on into the early hours of April 13, culminating in the upload of this image—resembling a portrait of Christ—at precisely 2:49 a.m.; an image he was subsequently compelled to delete.
On the night of April 17, Trump began posting at 8:41 p.m., and this torrent of messages—27 in total—did not cease until the first light of the following morning; it even reached its peak with the publication of eight posts after 1:00 a.m.
Posting then resumed at 7:09 a.m. that same day—less than six hours after his initial barrage of messages had ended.
This frenetic campaign continued through the following night, with Trump posting six times during the overnight hours regarding the 2020 presidential election, claiming it had been stolen from him and insinuating that undocumented immigrants had contributed to the vote tally of former President Joe Biden.

After 13 consecutive nights following this pattern—his longest uninterrupted streak of the month—Trump once again appeared to doze off in front of the cameras on April 23. He was flanked by pharmaceutical industry executives and members of his administration—including Dr. Oz, Howard Lutnick, and Robert Kennedy Jr.—as he sat behind the Resolute Desk.

At 6:23 p.m. that day, Trump issued a simple statement: “I LOVE TRUTH SOCIAL!”
It remains difficult to determine whether this declaration of affection was a response to someone suggesting he take a one-night break from the social media platform following that embarrassing nap in the Oval Office; regardless, he did indeed end up granting himself a night of rest.
However, that resolution proved short-lived.
Between midnight and 2:45 a.m. on April 24, Trump posted 18 times. The final message in this early-morning flurry was a link to an article published by the right-wing site Breitbart regarding the phenomenon of “birth tourism.” He resumed posting at 7:33 a.m. that same day, suggesting that he had managed to get less than five hours of sleep.

Among the posts shared by the President on April 24 was an image of a fake Time magazine cover, featuring a heavily retouched photograph of right-wing political commentator Candace Owens, accompanied by the caption: “Hateful Person of the Year.”
That same day, Trump also posted an image of a white-bearded man wearing a red cap emblazoned with “USA” and brandishing a sign that read: “Stop telling us who broke the law; start telling us who got arrested!” This frenetic series of late-night posts on April 24 came just one day after well-informed sources told Bloomberg that a divergence of views had emerged within the White House regarding whether the threats Trump was making against Iran on social media were helping or hurting the situation.
On April 29, at 4 a.m., Trump unleashed a torrent of erratic tweets in which he appeared to threaten to bomb Iran; he accompanied these messages with an AI-generated image depicting himself—assault rifle in hand—against a backdrop of explosions.

Trump continued these peculiar posting habits throughout the first few days of May as well.
Late Friday evening, he posted an AI-generated image depicting himself alongside Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum—as well as a woman in a bikini—all seated right in the middle of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Weekends have proven to be the period of peak activity for Trump’s posts; indeed, only a single weekend night has passed without him posting anything (that of April 4), suggesting that he does not spend his weekends catching up on sleep lost during the workweek.
The health consequences of sleep deprivation—particularly those affecting the physical and mental well-being of older adults—are firmly established scientific facts.
A study conducted by Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard-affiliated institution, revealed that the risk of developing dementia doubles among participants who reported sleeping fewer than five hours per night, compared to those who indicated sleeping between seven and eight hours per night. It is worth noting that Trump’s father suffered from Alzheimer’s disease during his final years, before passing away in 1999.
In February 2025, Trump asserted that he was thriving and remaining productive despite a lack of sleep, requiring only about five hours of rest per night. He stated that he went to bed between midnight and 1:00 a.m. and woke up around 6:00 a.m.—a schedule that aligns with the timing of his social media posts.
It remains difficult to determine how many of these late-night posts Trump drafts himself, or whether he receives assistance from his aides—such as the woman dubbed his “human printer,” Natalie Harp, who officially holds the position of Executive Assistant to the President.
Harp, 34, has been photographed on numerous occasions inside the White House since Trump launched a military campaign against Iran on February 28. In the aftermath of the 2024 election, The New York Times reported that Harp “served as a conduit for the flow of information to and from the president—a stream largely devoid of any fact-checking or oversight.” During the election campaign, she was reportedly inseparable from Trump, carrying a portable printer with her so she would be ready to provide him with a hard copy of any document he requested, in addition to “helping him manage his social media account.”
In response to a request for comment, White House spokesperson Davis Engel told The Daily Beast that America loves the stream of posts Trump puts out, regardless of the time of day—or night—at which they are published.
Engel asserted: “President Trump is the most transparent and accessible-to-the-media president in American history; moreover, his return to the White House has saved the mainstream media from the risk of collapse and extinction.” He added: “The press realizes that it will never tire of news related to Trump, just as the American people appreciate the opportunity to learn of his analyses and his direct viewpoints on issues of importance to our country.”
