Dem Loser’s Staff Resigns En Masse as She Joins MAGA

Several members of Haley Stevens’ staff on Capitol Hill have resigned after her shock endorsement of Mike Rogers.

The team of Democratic Representative Haley Stevens is in open revolt following her surprise announcement that she is endorsing a Republican candidate—who is running against the very Democrat who defeated her in the Michigan Senate primary.

Deep discontent has rippled through her staff—both current and former—after she declared her support for Mike Rogers, a candidate aligned with the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement, just two days before the election. This stunning announcement comes after months during which Stevens had backed Abdul El-Sayed—the winner of the August primary—and repeatedly warned voters against the “harmful agenda” championed by Rogers.

In a sudden and baffling reversal, Stevens took aim at Abdul El-Sayed on Sunday, stating: “Abdul El-Sayed let me know that I was no longer welcome in his campaign and asked me to step away. He is right.” These remarks were made in a video released shortly after she appeared alongside Rogers at a church.

She added: “That is why I am announcing today my support for Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate. Our identity as Michiganders is not rooted in hate—yet that is not what our current Democratic candidate offers us.”

This move has had immediate consequences within her team: her chief of staff, Justin German, and her communications director, Logan Bash, both resigned in the aftermath.

German issued a statement “on behalf” of the entire office, expressing their “shock and profound sadness” regarding this last-minute endorsement.

The statement read, in part: “As of this morning, several members of our team have resigned, myself included. We encourage everyone to fulfill their civic duty, to vote for Abdul El-Sayed as well as for Democratic candidates for various offices, and to stand up for the America we all believe in.”

Former members of her Senate campaign team also expressed their dissatisfaction with this stance.

Eric Wolk, who previously served as communications director for her campaign, criticized the move on social media, calling it “absurd and pathetic.”

Wolk wrote: “Many outstanding staff members joined Haley Stevens to champion shared Democratic values and to hold this Senate seat for the Democratic Party. Today, some of those exceptional individuals are working hard to ensure the election of Abdul El-Sayed.” He added: “Two Supreme Court seats—along with many other values Haley claimed to care about—are now at stake. By endorsing Mike Rogers, she has betrayed all of those values.”

She has also faced criticism from other organizations aligned with the Democratic Party.

Verjee Rollins, chair of the Black Caucus within the Democratic National Committee, stated that Stevens “has proven herself to be someone who has betrayed her principles, exploiting Black citizens in the state of Michigan for political gain.”

She added: “Representative Stevens has lost her way. The people of Michigan know full well that Mike Rogers is merely a tool in Trump’s hands and that he has let the state of Michigan down.” »

This sudden reversal comes just days after she had affirmed that she would support Democratic candidates at all levels of the ballot; in fact, she had planned to participate in a campaign event for Syed this Sunday.

When asked about Stevens’s support for a candidate from an opposing party, Syed remarked: “At the end of the day, I don’t really think about Haley Stevens.”

As for President Donald Trump—who had previously labeled her a “far-left socialist”—he praised her decision on his platform, “Truth Social.”

“Haley has expressed what few dare to say,” Trump wrote. “With this move, she has shown great loyalty—almost unprecedented—to the wonderful people of Michigan.” He added: “That’s what you call courage—a quality few possess, as Representative Haley Stevens has just demonstrated!”
